As our EH&S Manager, you will report to the Site Leadership and will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the company’s Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program for the Tucker site including safety and environmental permitting and compliance; safety and environmental training including course development; PPE program administration; and program auditing.
You will ensure that Corbion complies with applicable federal, state, and county EH&S laws, regulations, and standards.
Responsibilities Lead, implement, execute and promote safety of our colleagues and products using current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Security Measures, Housekeeping, Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP), all quality, regulatory, environmental, safety and health guidelines and regulations.
Lead and work with the Site Safety Committee.
Manage training program to develop and maintain training materials to ensure they are current and meet company and OSHA guidelines.
Manage environmental reporting and permitting programs.
Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and company procedures and initiatives.
Manage the Hazardous Waste Program (RCRA).
Lead the implementation of the behavior based safety (BBS) program.
Lead Site ISO 45001 program including internal and 3rd party audits.
Serve as the point of contact to the Global EH&S Platform Lead.
Lead incident investigations including root cause analysis and track corrective action/ preventive action (CAPA).
Create and maintain reports as requested; coordinate with managers to ensure timely submittal of required information.
Promote a positive safety culture through visible efforts to prevent employee injury and illness and damage to the environment.
Manage all EHS files, records, metrics, training materials and SDS sheets.
Track and record the effectiveness of the EHS programs, and communicate effectively with leadership to identify and recommend new learning opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or Industrial Hygiene; Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) in related area (Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or Industrial Hygiene) preferred.
3+ years’ experience in the field of EHS Extensive knowledge and experience with EH&S Management systems and processes.
Working knowledge of OSHA & EPA regulatory matters and industrial chemical process operations.
Experience with Environmental Permitting is a plus.
Advanced knowledge of combustible dusts, LOTO, Confined Space, Respiratory, Working at Heights and Hot Work.
Must understand the standards within FDA, cGMP, and ISO 9001 Experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) is preferred.
Certified Safety Professional (PSP) or Certified Environmental Specialist preferred.
Must be able to lead and influence at all levels within organization.
Familiar with behavior based safety programs, working experience preferred.
Familiar with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, working experience preferred.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with web based tools and applications.
General Working Environment The EH&S Manager is required to work in an office setting and in the plant; with some tasks taking place inside of and outside of the plant.
The EH&S Manager is subject to wear the appropriate PPE including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety boots, chemical suits, face-shields, rubber gloves and uniform clothing.
