Are you a mechanically inclined individual? Do you like working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? Do you have a passion for using your skills to drive production and help others? If so, the Lead Forming Operator position at Graphic Packaging International could be for you! Responsibilities Directs and coordinates the day-to-day shift activities, by providing leadership and supervision to subordinates.
Assists Supervisor in production planning, operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products, utilizing knowledge of production processes and methods, machine and equipment capabilities, and human resource requirements and capabilities.
Works with Supervisor to makes decisions, job assignments and work priorities Provides Leadership and supervision to designated shift.
Ensures that product quality, production efficiencies, and overall productivity meets or exceeds established standards.
Ensures that Safety/ housekeeping/ procedures and acceptable work practices are being followed throughout the shift.
Conducts performance coaching of individuals for performance related issue for safety, quality, and productivity.
Enforces all company policies and procedures.
Ensures completion of all paperwork including end of shift reports, PMs, work orders, and daily management.
Provide break relief to other operators, including feeding machines and packing product as needed.
Continuous Improvement Improve operational effectiveness through use of lean manufacturing concepts and cost reduction initiatives.
Participate in and drive lean culture.
Drive daily management and lean initiatives for your assigned shift.
Quality Works with Leadership team to develop and implement any corrective action for quality defect within 48 hours of complaint.
Perform necessary quality checks.
Make sure that our employees are aware and understand quality processes and practices.
Cost Reduction Monitors and meet overtime and cost targets on your designated shift.
Works with department manager to implement cost saving initiatives.
Requirements 2-5 years of machine operating experience Strong mechanical aptitude, including use of tools and industrial machine mechanics Ability to teach and lead others Basic computer skills Graphic Packaging is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
