Position Overview: We are seeking a results-driven and dynamic Heavy Civil Project Manager with a proven background in managing projects for the Georgia Department of Transportation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Georgia’s construction regulations, a history of successful project delivery, and exceptional leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee all phases of heavy civil construction projects, from planning to execution and closeout.
· Collaborate with the project team to develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
· Ensure compliance with Georgia Highway Administration regulations and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
· Lead project meetings, communicate progress, and manage stakeholder expectations.
· Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring they meet project requirements and deadlines.
· Monitor project performance, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
· Track project expenses, review invoices, and manage project budget to ensure financial objectives are met.
· Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting safety and quality at all times.
· Prepare and present project reports to senior management and clients.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
· Minimum of 5 years of heavy civil project management experience, with a focus on Georgia State Highway projects.
· Strong knowledge of Georgia Highway Administration regulations and standards.
· Proven track record of successfully delivering complex heavy civil projects on time and within budget.
· Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate cross-functional teams.
· Proficiency in project management software and tools specifically Vista Viewpoint and HCSS suite.
· PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus.
· Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
