PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Assistant Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for tracking inventory levels, scheduling shipments, receiving deliveries, and handling all aspects of shipping while keeping accurate records.
The Assistant Shipping and Receiving Clerk is also responsible for packaging items, printing labels, weighing packages, and determining appropriate postage.
The Assistant Shipping and Receiving Clerk should be self-motivated, possess great communication skills, and be able to adapt to change and change priorities throughout the course of the day to assist in accommodating the strong growth of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries, registering them, and distributing packages and letters within the company.
Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items and staff on hand to manage the shipments.
Keep files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers.
Print shipping documents such as sales receipts and cross-checking with the CRM/ERP system to ensure accuracy.
Prepare and print the shipping labels and schedule freight pick-ups.
Troubleshoot shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them.
Work with production staff and utilize CRM/ERP system to achieve on-time customer deliveries.
Communicate regularly with team members within the shipping department.
Communicating with other departments about billing, inventory control, and other issues as they arise.
Maintain an organized, presentable work area.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
Computer data-entry experience.
Experience in the corrugated box industry preferred.
Entry-level through two (2) years of customer relations experience.
EXPERIENCE: Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
