Job Title: Electronic Security Technician Department: TKC Management Services Reports To: Facility Manager / Operations Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Updated: January 2024 Position Summary: The Electronic Security Technician shall be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, testing, etc.
on all electronic security systems, security detention systems, and life safety systems and components of the facility.
This position shall also assist the Electrician, as necessary, in the preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, testing, etc.
of all electrical systems and components of the facility.
Essential Job Duties: Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on electronic security system and associated devices.
This includes, but is not limited to; intercom systems, CCTV, card access systems, mechanical detention equipment, fence systems, etc.
Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on all life safety systems and associated devices.
This includes testing, inspection and troubleshooting of the fire alarm system.
Installation of new electronic security systems and devices, and associated wiring.
Fabrication and accountability of all interior and exterior general use and security access keys, if applicable.
Maintain master/sub-master key systems, if applicable.
Repair or replacement of all interior and exterior door lock cylinders.
Coordinate outside contractors for contract work on associated systems when necessary.
Assist other trades where necessary.
Responds to on-call emergency repair work.
This includes after hours on-sight response.
Completes corrective and preventive maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Competencies: Knowledge of electronic theory; fundamentals of physics and mathematics as applied to electronics.
Considerable knowledge in the installation, maintenance and repair of computers, printers, modems, cables, telephone systems, switching equipment, and other related equipment.
Knowledge in the installation, maintenance and repair of electronic security systems including; touch screen monitors, camera systems, door locking systems, electronic fence detection systems, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities High school diploma, or equivalent, with 3 years progressive experience in the repair and maintenance of a variety of specialized electronic devices.
Ability to read and work from blueprints and schematics for associated systems.
Ability to perform required tasks associated with position including, but not limited to, kneeling, standing, walking, climbing a ladder, and the ability to pick up or carry up to 50 pounds.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time, non-exempt position with working hours Monday through Friday.
Some overtime, holiday, or weekends may be required.
Travel No travel is required for this position Supervisory Responsibilities There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
Work Environment This job operates both in a professional office environment and onsite supervision.
Must be able to work in hazardous conditions with an attention to maintaining safety standards.
Must be willing to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, industrial settings and constructions sites.
