Position: Project Controls Engineer
Reports to: Project Manager
Status: Regular Full-time; Exempt/Salary
Location: Calvert, AL
The Project Controls Engineer is essential to the Graywolf site management team responsible for meeting and exceeding the projects budget and schedule goals.
This person is responsible for creating and maintaining the project schedule, forecasting labor needs, and delivering on all reporting requirements for the project to satisfy our clients – both internal and external.
Key Performance Objectives:
Builds and maintains project schedules.
Runs weekly three-week lookahead meetings with superintendents, general foremen and field engineers for team input and buy-in to the execution of the project plan.
Advises the project team for schedule or productivity improvement measures to ensure project success.
Enters and field verifies all quantity entries into the budget tracking system.
Monitors and reports on labor forecasts.
Ensures project reporting meets all contract requirements and is submitted on time to the client.
Leads all client required or subcontractor required scheduling meetings.
Assists the Project Manager with cashflow, cost forecasting and invoicing.
Participates in subcontractor pre-mobilization meetings to ensure compliance of any subcontractor’s reporting requirements.
Tracks, understands, and reports on subcontractor’s adherence to the project schedule.
Holds weekly subcontractor’s meetings to coordinate execution plans.
Education/Training:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred; or equivalent and relevant work experience.
Work Experience:
Three or more years of experience in complex heavy industrial construction projects.
Specialized Knowledge:
Proven knowledge of construction methods, processes, scheduling, and coordination.
Understanding of scheduling dynamic construction projects using critical path method.
Software & Technology:
MS Office Suite, Primavera P6, Microsoft Projects & Navisworks
Work Environment:
Position requires as many hours as needed to fulfill the daily and weekly obligations required to carry out the functions.
Working long days including evenings and weekends can be required for this position.
This position is generally indoors in a climate-controlled office.
Daily site walks to review and track project progress is required.
