WHY CO-OP WITH US
A successful Co-op will learn how to estimate projects and scopes of work, work directly with vendors to purchase material and equipment, and support Field Foreman and customer needs through scheduling and site logistics management.
Experienced, successful Co-ops will have the opportunity to run jobs from inception, through construction and final job closeout, under the guidance of their Project Manager.
As a co-op, you will be part of the team from day one and given training and tasks that are important and impactful to our projects' success.
WHAT IS THE CRITERIA FOR A MCKENNEY’S COOP
Candidates must be able to complete a minimum of 2 full-time, alternating co-op rotations in the office they are being hired for prior to their graduation.
It is preferred to completed 3 rotations.
(Spring 2024, Fall 2024, Summer 2025) Students must be enrolled in a co-op program at an accredited engineering school majoring in Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering or Construction Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work hand in hand with their Project Manager to manage the mechanical construction of major projects from start to finish in the Greater Atlanta Area
Coordinate with vendors to schedule and procure major material and equipment purchases for the construction project
Regularly update and project cost expenditures for the project’s multi-million-dollar budgets
Plan with Project Managers and Field Foreman to hit major schedule milestones with the field crews onsite
Regularly survey project sites for adherence to McKenney’s safety, quality, and productivity values.

Maintain a strong attention to detail
Ability to effectively communicate across a diverse group of people (PMs, drafting, field staff, fabrication shops, etc.
).
Light physical effort.
Requires handling average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and some standing or walking.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS
Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
Work environment involves some exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
Light physical effort.
Requires handling average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and some standing or walking.
Work requires local and occasional out-of-town travel to job sites and customer locations.
