Job Description:
Reports To: Engineering Manager
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Electrical Engineer will design, budget, and manage installations of engineered electrical control systems for both capital projects and continuous improvement projects associated with plant operations.
Additionally, this individual will provide technical assistance to plant electronic technicians in diagnosing electrical malfunctions, determining necessary repairs, and eliminating the cause of the malfunctions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Project management, including budgeting, design, installation management, spare parts procurement, etc.
2.
Maintain electrical system one lines and assess power availability for new installations.
3.
Ensure reliability and efficiency of electrical systems/processes throughout the plant.
4.
Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions in machine control systems and make recommendations to improve efficiency or address quality concerns.
5.
Capable of designing original concepts.
6.
Develop and modify PLC and/or HMI applications, interfaces, or embedded control systems.
7.
Proficient in ladder logic/PLC programming, specifically Siemens and Rockwell.
8.
Design systems within estimated budgets.
9.
Coordinate with plant management, production schedules, and support groups to complete projects on schedule.
10.
Stay updated on current trends, technology, codes, and standards, and apply this knowledge effectively.
11.
Possess knowledge of AC and DC circuitry and electrical concepts.
12.
Versatile in ladder logic and various PLC programming languages.
Work with field control devices (motors, relays, switches, photoeyes, etc.
).
13.
Experience in start-to-finish HMI development.
14.
Design, develop, maintain, and modify instrumentation and control systems.
15.
Handle start-to-finish electrical control system hardware design, including control panel and field wiring.
16.
Work to improve equipment reliability.
17.
Assist maintenance planners and supervisors in developing job plans and procedures.
18.
Participate in the setup and commissioning of new systems or upgrades of current systems.
19.
Provide training to employees on control system processes upgrades and installations.
20.
Possess and maintain a thorough knowledge of all equipment operations, maintenance procedures, safety policies, and operating standards.
21.
Operations or maintenance experience is a plus.
22.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
