Description:
Performs service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, system components, speakers, TV hangs, remote controls, and systems requiring Control4 automation products and lighting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, system components, speakers, TV hangs, remote controls, shades and screens, advanced lighting controls, and systems requiring Control4 automation and programming
Communicate with the customer to review the work orders, answer customer questions professionally and properly
Instruct and train the customer/end user on the system functions and operation.
Have in depth knowledge of security systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements
Completely understand security systems Phoenix Systems installs and services (NX, SimonXTi, 2Gig, DSC, Qolsys, Etc.
)
Handle after hours emergency service calls (as assigned on a rotation basis)
Create and edit Control4 IR Drivers
Ability to install and program shades and screens
Have tools and experience needed to terminate multimode fiber ends
Knowledge to calibrate advanced projectors and receivers for optimal video and sound
Ability to think on your own and resolve technical issues without
Must also be able to work and perform duties of Trim Tech II/III and A/V Security Technician II
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience with security/AV installations required
Active Control4 Automation Programmer certification through SnapAV
Active Control4 PCNA Certification through SnapAV
Lutron Lighting Certification Preferred
Knowledge of cable types and technologies and can distinguish which types to use in installation scenarios
Ability to accurately assess system design and functionality when adding additional components
Knowledge of setup of Networking requirements for Routers, Switches, DVR’s, Network Components, WAP’s, etc.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Ability to work in a clean and unobtrusive manner
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practices.
Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools to perform job responsibilities.
Must be able to clear a background check and drug screening
Clear MVR required
Technical or Vocational related schooling is preferred
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear.
Frequent use of step ladders and extension ladders
Frequent amount of lifting up to 50 pounds
Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
Work Environment:
Active construction sites
Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust.
