The Core Service ITR (Inquiry To Remittance i.
e.
from quotation to execution) Engineer position will involve supporting the business for all engineering services necessary to offer and execute outages, repairs, New Product Introduction (NPI) and minor upgrades across all GE fleets of generators in the Americas Region.
The Core Service ITR Engineer position will be based in the Americas Region, in which you will play a key role in the Steam Power, Generator Core Services ITR team dedicated to enabling the Americas Region to execute projects to a high quality through providing customer facing engineering support at all phases of the ITR process, including tendering and execution.

Who You Are: You are someone who brings initiatives, rigor, and a customer service mindset to support and maintain our regional generator fleet You have experience with Generator maintenance, repairs, or refurbishment Roles and Responsibilities As a Core Service ITR Engineer, you will be expected to support the Sales teams through the tendering phase of the ITR process, collaborate with the Global Repair Services (GRS) network, support the outage planning and scoping of customer projects, assure compliance with design standards/ practices/ internal processes, and be on-time in fulfilling program objectives, schedules, cost and quality requirements.
The Core Service ITR Engineer will also support projects through execution with engineering requests and dispositions.
In this role you will: Support our installed base including activities such as customer issue resolution, fleet issues, service bulletin implementation, Monitoring & Diagnostics, fleet configuration, maintenance of fleet data, outage management.
Provide outage planning and Outage Optimization recommendations for the regional fleet of generators.
Provide primary support through the ITR tendering phases as the technical lead for the bid, including scope description, Bill Of Material, Request For Quote review, technical clarifications, technical risk identification, and when appropriate provision of costing and schedule.
Provide technical guidance, both through collaboration and consultation, to less experienced engineers and to other individuals responsible for Generator service/ repairs.
May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Provide guidance for development of and improvements to existing generator maintenance, and repair processes and procedures.
Ensure dimensional and process accuracy of all design documentation to support production, while meeting the engineering/project schedule and keeping costs at or under budget.
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with the engineering processes.
Support cost reduction, cycle reduction, and product quality enhancement projects.
Provide appropriate solutions to emergent technical issues arising during generator inspection or repair activities.
Develop expertise in generator component repair processes available to the GRS network and Field Services.
Support technology transfer into the GRS network and region engineering teams Escalate issues as required acting as the liaison between the field and design engineering to drive specific technical resolution and to help engineering identify and drive corrective actions.
Author or contribute to the development of Repair procedures / work instructions / standards and design practices associated with this technology area.
Highlight lessons learned and makes repair practices / design standards changes or other appropriate changes in practices to prevent reoccurrence.
Contribute to engineering design review activities, and lessons learned.

- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university with 2+ years of experience conducting maintenance and/or repair of generators on-site, or, Associates Degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related discipline with 4+ years of experience of relevant work experience, or, 6+ years of relevant work experience with no form of higher education.
If hired outside of the U.
S.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university with demonstrated years of experience conducting maintenance and/or repair of generators on-site, or, Associates Degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related discipline with considerable years of experience of relevant work experience, or, significant years of relevant work experience with no form of higher education.
Desired Qualifications Experience of generator outage planning and processes, including routine inspections, overhauls, rewinding activities, brazing methods, insulation technologies and associated measurements.

Has contributed to the solving of significant technical problems in engineering and execution processes.

, the salary range for this position is $93,600 - $124,800 USD Annually.
The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
