Summary of the role:
We are seeking a Premium Audit Supervisor who is responsible for providing timely, professional and consultative Premium Audit Services and supervision of a subset of Premium Auditors.
What would be your day in the life at Builders?
Visiting accounts to conduct premium audits.
Investigating risk exposures, maintain claims and coding information during audit and make recommendations.
Following through and assist accounts in maintaining their Premium Audit exposures
Keeping informed and stay abreast of current developments in Premium Audit by engaging in self-study and participating in formal courses and seminars as required including, but not limited to NCCI WC Manual Rules, ISO Rules and PAAS bulletins.
Communicating all unusual or serious conditions affecting customer risk to internal and external customers.
Communicating with Underwriting to provide quality and accurate procedures on all accounts as required.
Providing auditor support and training as needed.
Riding along with each GA auditor a minimum of 1 time a year.
Managing GA auditor inventory levels, so they can achieve both time service and production goals
Reviewing work weekly to ensure quality standards meet or exceed auditor goals
Performing a minimum of 1 quality review on each GA auditor per month
Working with management and GA auditor staff to ensure territories are properly aligned for maximum efficiency.
Completing annual performance evaluations for the GA auditor staff
What skills will you need?
High School Diploma required
Advanced degree in Insurance or other related field preferred
A minimum of 7 years’ experience working in Premium Audit
Prefer an Associate in Premium Audit designation or APA 91 and APA 92 completed; with plans to complete AICPCU requirements
Comprehensive knowledge in basic insurance principles, casualty/property/liability premium audit systems and underwriting experience required
Construction industry experience preferred
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Ability to travel extensively
Proven ability to work independently from a remote home-based office with minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills; ability to plan, coordinate work and audit visits
Advanced knowledge of payroll taxes
