Milllwright / Fabricator - 1st Shift

*Role Overview:* Custom Building Products, _the leading manufacturer of floor setting materials nationwide_, has one opening for a first shift expert Millwright/Fabricator with a fulltime Monday-Friday schedule (plus overtime) at our Lithia Springs Facility.
This hourly position is assigned to the Maintenance Department.
Pay is based on skill level and experience.

Additionally, you can earn up to $1.
00/hr increase after 90 days.
This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in welding and fabricating.
-- *Position Responsibilities: * * Construct and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors, etc.
* Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and blueprints to determine work procedures.
* Determine which machines, techniques, and tools to use when moving equipment and completing jobs.
* Assist the mechanics with troubleshooting and repair of all packaging, processing, and plant equipment.
Respond appropriately to all line calls, contribute and participate in the installation of projects and/or capital expenditures, assist with maintenance PM’s.
* Communicate daily; work order status, project/status and shift reporting.
* Confer with production employees to identify equipment operational problems and repetitive issues.
* Maintain proper paperwork (work orders, reports, and shift reports) by using MP2 and share point system to properly record data.
-- *Required Skills:* * Expert fabricator and welder.
* Proficient mechanical knowledge, electrical knowledge a plus.
* Proficient in MIG and Stick Welding and is someone who takes pride in being precise when constructing and installing parts.
* Proficient in acetylene torch, plasma cutter, and the use of many types of construction tools (grinders, drills, saws, etc.
) and construction equipment (forklift, boom lift, scissor lift, etc.
).
* Able to discuss details and be a problem solver, with experience to know what works and does not work in the industrial warehouse.
* Mechanically proficient - be able to install, service, and maintain mechanical equipment.
For example, change motors, gears, shafts, couplings, bearings, sprockets, chains, etc.
* The millwright must be ok with heights.
* Experience with safety programs and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
* Ability to be an independent thinker and find solutions to problems and then implement those solutions.
* The ability to follow directions and function as a multi-skilled team member, performing tasks involving electrical and mechanical skills as required.
* Must be team oriented and have good people skills.
* Highly motivated person with the ability to handle a high volume of work with accuracy in a fast-changing environment.
* Ability to complete a job task in a timely fashion and maintain a clean work area.
Housekeeping is a must.
* Exhibits sound judgment and swift decision-making skills.
* Ability to learn new systems and functions of machinery.
* Must have good work ethic and be dependable.
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
