Overview:
Cobb EMC has an exciting opportunity for a Locating Coordinator to identify, inspect, and evaluate the locating of Cobb EMC utility lines.
Submits inspection results to contract supervisor and superintendent of service with recommendations.
Plans, coordinates, and locates using ticketing software.
Defines and lays-out expectations to contractors point of contact.
Serves as a point of contact for Cobb EMC members to answer inquiries, concerns, and/or complaints regarding any locate.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm.

Responsibilities:
What you will be doing:
Underground Electrical System.
Locate existing underground cable as needed for auditing of a correct locate of contractor.
Audit Overhead ticket from ticket management system to ensure no Underground Power is not involved.
Monitor underground cable routes for any hazardous conditions and promptly report needed and repairs to Supervisor.
Coordinate with Locating Contractor in the proper locating of high profile locates of the distribution systems.
Other Operations Duties
Visually check lines, poles, insulators, transformers, service entrances, rights-of-way, etc.
for damages or unsafe conditions and report same to immediate supervisor.
Inspect, vehicles and equipment daily
Advise immediate supervisor of maintenance needs on vehicles, and other equipment
Assist in handling emergencies and outages, as directed
Customer Inquiries
Investigate and recommend effective solutions to customer complaints within one day of notification.
Ensure unresolved complaints are routed to the proper personnel within one day of notification.
Ensure contract crews are courteous and helpful to members and are promptly handling member requests.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
High School or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of experience locating utility lines
Thorough knowledge of all circuits on a distribution system
Knowledge of the National Electric Code
Working knowledge of Georgia Utility Facility Protection Act (GUFPA) regulations
SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret maps, specifications, staking sheets, and complex diagrams
Ability to maintain time and materials records
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent decision-making and interpersonal skills
Possess valid Georgia driver's license and relevant endorsements
