FOR SALE BY OWNER $2000 or best offer 1977 Ranger Bass Boat, 17 foot fiberglass 115 hp Johnson outboard 2-stroke street-legal trailer, currently registered in the state of GA trailer tires are a couple years old, but still have 80% tread on em, I put new ones on after a road trip to Eufaula, but never took it anywhere far since then includes original Motorguide 40lb thrust 12V trolling motor includes original driver side windscreen.
Currently unmounted because I installed RAM mount for sonar unit.
Full custom built front casting deck with 2x rod lockers, access to front livewell, and large unified under-deck compartment for tackle bags, boxes, etc.
2x functional livewells, bow and stern Working navigation lights, bow and stern 2x 6gal fuel tanks, 4x marine batteries, working bilge pump - in stern hold Hull is in good clean shape, been run in GA reservoir lakes, so it's not scratched all to hell.
Keel guard installed.
Pics show.
No sonar electronics included Install wiring is easy.
I did install and uninstall myself, lots of room to work on this one.
OUTBOARD TURNS OVER BUT NOT CURRENTLY STARTING I have owned and fished out of this boat since 2016, so it can be made to run, there is nothing critically wrong with it.
It's just an OLD carbureted outboard so it's finicky about starting if not run regularly.
Nothing ever broke, it just sat.
So if it's anything like every other summer I ran it, now it needs a new hot battery or a jump while you monkey with getting the air/fuel mix right.
When it runs, it runs, does about 40mph on the top end.
I ran this boat with this motor anywhere I wanted to go on Lake Allatoona for 8 years, and I only had to trolling motor home twice.
That's the best description I can give you for how the motor runs.
I'm valuing the motor at $0 in posted sale price, because I'd like it gone, and since to be "tournament-ready" you'd pretty much want to re-power with a newer motor.
If in the process of cleaning it up for sale I get it running consistently, I will remove this paragraph and reflect that in the posted price.
Trim cylinder fluid leaks and requires occasional topping up.
Back left trailer tail light is out.
I'd rather have this than a 14 foot aluminum john boat, that's why I did.
