Job Summary
UPS Technology Strategy and R&D group is seeking an intern to join our team in 2024.
UPS TSRD is the Innovation Factory for UPS, located in Sandy Springs, GA.
Students in our internship program will develop knowledge and skills across their areas of interest while gaining insight into UPS logistics operations.
Additionally, you will have the ability to apply academic concepts to real–world business challenges.
An intern has the opportunity to be a key strategic contributor from the ground up.
The TSRD Robotics Intern assists with building and developing functioning robotic solutions to meet the business needs of UPS.
He/She helps to develop customized solutions and the requirements for a robotic work cell to function in an optimal manner and standardizes systems by developing guidelines around components used throughout the UPS network.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in developing the long-term strategy of internally developed robotic systems.
Determine the safety and reliability of support models
Consider the overall impact of created solutions.
This position may interact with external contractors and others in the department.
Help develop Digital Twin models to test products virtually
Create prototypes to test different concepts for application in various job setups and environments.
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will have experience in:

Qualifications and Soft Skills:
Rising college junior or senior, graduate student or recent graduate within the last 24 months pursuing a degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
Sufficient and effective knowledge and experience in programming and algorithms
Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
Ability to interact and communicate effectively across business units and to different levels of management
Availability to work 40 hours/week in the summer on a hybrid 3 days/week in person schedule in the Atlanta, GA area.
