com PRIMARY PURPOSE: The SAP Manager is responsible for leading the SAP team within the IT Department, overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's SAP systems, as well as the satellite systems that integrate to SAP.
This role ensures the smooth operation of SAP applications, provides strategic guidance, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to support the organization's business objectives.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES Manage and mentor the SAP team, including Functional Analysts, ABAP Developers, External Consultants.
Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training and development opportunities for team members.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures, best practices, and processes for the SAP team.
Oversee the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.
g.
, finance, supply chain, manufacturing) to understand and address their SAP-related needs.
Lead SAP-related projects, including new implementations, upgrades, and process improvements.
Act as a subject matter expert and provide functional consulting services to business units.
Collaborate with external vendors, partners, and consultants as required for project delivery.
Ensure projects are completed within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize SAP systems and processes for operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and integration with other systems.
Stay updated with SAP best practices, new releases, and industry trends, recommending, and implementing enhancements as appropriate.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand current and future requirements and align SAP strategies accordingly.
Liaison with other teams in the company to ensure consistency in design and deployment of the SAP application.
Adhere to company procedures and governance policies.
Working closely with the business community to identify potential opportunities to innovate and improve current operation at Arauco.
Identify and mitigate any shortfalls or risks to the budget, quality, and timeline.
Coordinates, executes, and supports integration testing, training, and documentation of all new changes / enhancements.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Functional Consultant in SAP, preferably in logistics modules such as SD (Sales and Distribution), MM (Materials Management), LES (Logistics Execution System), and WM (Warehouse Management).
Leadership experience in managing SAP teams or projects (preferred, but not required).
Strong understanding of SAP implementation methodologies, best practices, and industry standards.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Project management experience, with the ability to lead complex SAP implementations and upgrades.
Proficiency in Spanish language (preferred, but not required).
