FLS Transportation seeks an experienced Database Developer to design, develop, implement, test, and maintain data-related integrations and support analytical needs.
In this role you will work closely with key stakeholders & departments, multiple systems and new/existing integrations utilizing your business acumen and technical expertise to ensure that data meets the organization’s strategic goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:
Performs data design based upon business requirements.
Designs, develops, tests, and implements modifications necessary to correct database defects and implements enhancements based on requirements provided.
Analyzes, summarizes, and/or reviews data, reports findings, interprets results, and/or makes recommendations.
Assists with the planning and supervision of the installation and testing of new products and improvements to systems, such as the installation of new databases.
Implements security measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure.
Develops methods for integrating different products to work properly together, such as customizing commercial databases to fit specific needs.
Support developers and/or testers to resolve technical problems with data and/or databases.
Participate in database documentation, training, and deployment efforts.
Communicate with team members and business groups on issues and the status of work efforts.
Assist with reviewing work and providing recommendations for design, coding or testing approach, including conducting or participating in code walkthroughs or other methods to ensure code quality.
Working with stakeholders, including data, design, product and executive teams, and assisting them with data-related technical issues
Assembling large, complex sets of data that meet the non-functional and functional business requirements of the FLS organization.
Perform regular log reviews and health checks
Additional tasks assigned by IT leadership

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, equivalent certification, or experience.
5+ years of development experience with T-SQL, SSRS, and ideally some SSIS
3+ Years experience with Tableau
Experience with SQL Server administration and performance tuning.
Proficiency in PostgreSQL RDBMS database administration, architecture, concepts, and features.
Proficient in relational database concepts, design principles and best practices.
Must understand how the SQL Server database engine works, including but not limited to physical storage, indexing, partitioning, physical database design best practices, and the query optimizer.
Knowledge of tracing, monitoring, and auditing facilities and methods for SQL Server.
Knowledge of ETL (extract, transform, load) tools and processes is a plus.
Experience with development using the Microsoft .
Net Framework and Visual Studio is a plus.
Transportation Industry experience is a plus.
