The ideal candidate would be expected to own PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) applications and partner closely with business groups and Varian IT team to keep the enterprise applications running and up to date while driving innovative solutions to business problems under PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) domain with some cross-functional work with the SAP SCM (Supply Chain Management) area.
Position will have an internal client focus.
May involve company-hosted, web-enabled solutions or may include project-based jobs in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions.
You are responsible for: Directing the planning and coordination of enterprise wide systems in functional area of SAP PLM (Product Lifecycle Management).
Conducting and preparing feasibility studies for new data processing applications or revisions to existing systems.
Preparing system development cost estimates, budgets, and schedules.
Preparing and presents project proposals to management and user departments.
Establishing programming standards and program documentation requirements.
Reviewing current status of system applications and prepares recommendations for system improvements.
Monitoring design process, and preparing reports on system projects.
Selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the functions.
Performing all required management responsibilities including but not limited to: Implementing the company's policies, programs, and guidelines.
Ensuring employee productivity and growth.
Managing resources.
Knowing Varian's business; and maintaining functional, technical, and external market awareness necessary for managing immediate organization.
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge: Preferable to have hands on experience with 2 or more SAP PLM applications such as SAP DMS (Document Management System), PLC (Product Lifecycle Costing), ECN (Engineering Change Management), EHSM (Environmental Health & Safety Management), ECTR (Engineering Control Center), Visual Enterprise, etc.
Familiarity with design engineering concepts and CAD tools (such as Solidworks, Creo, etc).
Effective interpersonal skills.
Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with HCM (e.
g.
, Workday) or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
Experience with project management (Agile and Waterfall) and systems implementation methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
6+ years of SAP development experience (with any experience working on SAP PLM being an added advantage) Fighting cancer calls for big ideas.
