About the Team The Search Strategic Product Team is responsible for creating and delivering a Generative AI powered Search technology roadmap to simplify customer and employee facing search interactions across numerous strategic applications.
About the Job AT&T Search and Generative AI Services Product team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about Search technologies, GenAI, the eCommerce industry and has analytical and multi-task abilities to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be closely working with the development, product, design, test and architecture teams and will be responsible for the development of various initiatives for AT&T’s customer and employee digital experience across our consumer distribution channels.
You will be working on the software product development life cycle from inception to production launch and post-production support.
You must possess strong technical background and hands-on experience in software development (Front end and Backend) technologies and have a well-rounded technical background in current Search and AI technologies.
Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View • Collaborate to gather and review software requirements/user stories, provide estimates, create software design specifications and collaborate with engineers/architects to assess and test hardware and software interactions.
• Execute a specific development methodology through application of various programming languages and Search technologies.
• Create and execute automated test plans/strategies utilizing business requirements and collaborate with engineers/architects, clients, etc.
to validate test environments, test data and test results, design and implement code fixes, validate outcomes against expected results and produce associated reporting.
• In addition to Unit Test, responsibilities may include dynamic application security testing, interface testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing and/or user acceptance testing.
• Supports applications and solves configuration and environment issues.
Supports the software deployment process.
• 7+ years of related experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience.
(Master degree preferred) • 7+ years of experience working in: o Software development and SDLC o Robust and high performing ReactJS, NodeJS, TypeScript based UI applications.
o High-volume/high-transaction J2EE, Spring Boot, Kafka, Database(sql) and Microservices applications.
o CI/CD, Jenkins, Maven, Automation, Unit testing, A/B testing.
o Agile Scrum Methodology o Content management systems like Sanity.
io or AEM etc.
• 4 to 6 years of experience working in: o Search technologies: SOLR, Fusion or any other search engines.
o Machine learning, ML models, Signals o Search Optimization and techniques.
o Kubernetes or any other containerized deployments.
o Azure/AWS Cloud experience • Nice to have: o GenAI and LLM experience.
o Python and SQL programming o Caching and traffic management tools like Akamai o Understanding of operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows).
Our Senior-Software Engineers earn between $128,400-$192,600.

Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
