How you’ll make an impact: The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and support of streaming services on consumer electronics platforms, primarily Alexa, using SiriusXM APIs and streaming system.
What you’ll do: Work closely with the tech lead and senior systems architect to ensure that strategic objectives are met with the proposed architectural solutions for business needs.
Code all core services and applications in various Java technologies following industry standards.
Participate in technical design and architecture working closely with the Tech Lead - Streaming Media Services.
Participate in agile ceremonies including scrums, sprint planning sessions and sprint reviews.
Document all technical design, code, build and release procedures.
Maintain a robust understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts and design.
Work directly with development, QA and IT ops on all phases of SDLC.
Handle 3rd tier support, when business consultation and development is required.
What you’ll need: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, relevant experience.
7+ years of experience with full Javascript/Typescript/Java application development life cycle.
Strong design and implementation skills pertaining to database design and rich media applications.
Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge with application development using Javascript/Typescript,NodeJS, Java.
Understanding of consumer electronic devices and their use cases, especially voice platforms.
Experience developing and integrating with Amazon Alexa Music, Radio and Podcast APIs, Catalog management, voice modeling and interactions.
Understanding of session management and persistence, multi-threading, concurrency, design patterns and their impacts on application stability and scalability.
Experience and understanding of the agile development process.
Good working knowledge of web services, RESTful interfaces, XML, JSON.
Extensive knowledge integrating with Amazon Web Services.
Experience with maven, GitHub, and issue tracking tools (JIRA a plus).
Akamai Live Streaming, CDNs, and Edge Computing platforms experience preferred.
Requirements and General Skills: Knowledge of industry-standard application architectures, design patterns and technology standards and best practices.
Experience in designing and developing highly scalable, highly available and maintainable internet applications.
Good understanding of cloud-based applications and application deployment.
Ability to learn and stay up to date on new technologies and trends.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and reliably deliver work of the highest standards on time.
Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

These considerations can cause your compensation to vary.
We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $87,200 to $155,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives.
