Applicants for the Software Development Engineer in Test should live in the metro-Atlanta area and be comfortable commuting to our Alpharetta office.
The Opportunity SUMMARY: As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), your primary responsibility is to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications through designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans and automation frameworks.
Your expertise in both software development and testing methodologies will contribute to the delivery of high-quality software products.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Designs and develops quality assurance and test processes for portions of end-user applications, local, networked, and cloud-based platforms.
Analyzes design and determines test scripts, coding, automation, and integration activities required based on specific objectives and established project guidelines.
Executes and writes portions of testing plans, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs issues with code and suggests changes or improvements.
Participates as a member of software quality assurance team to develop reliable and cost-effective testing and quality assurance solutions for assigned software portion.
Collaborates and communicates with quality assurance and development peers regarding software applications design status, project progress, and issue resolution SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
Typically, 0-4 years' experience.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or similar.
Software testing methodology, including execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of design for software and firmware running on multiple platform types Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options.
