DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, build and deliver Cloud Cost Management solutions to help application teams manage cloud expenses as well as optimize operational cost efficiency.
Define and document high availability strategies for firm’s Cost Management platform on AWS by defining Terraform templates used to implement strategies.
Use Terraform templates to define infrastructure as a code to instantiate and destroy a variety of AWS product instances as required by the Cost Management platform.
Iterate, maintain and support Cost Management solutions.
Managing large datasets related to billing and utilization of public and private cloud services.
Analyze Cost Management platform code.
Set up Cost Management infrastructure, maintain code, and setup the CICD pipeline.
Set up platform monitoring and alerting solutions.
Identify production issues and manage end to end issue resolution, working with team members, platform teams and external vendors if needed.
Maintain the platform codebase.
Utilize Jira for workload management and Confluence for platform and process documentation.
Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: 3- or 4-year Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Lead Software Engineer, Manager at Projects, Assistant Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Unix and Linux Administration; Monitoring Tools; Shell Scripting; Python; Java; Tomcat; Web Server; Web Services; Application Server; Deployment tool; SQL; ServiceNow; Jira; Bitbucket; Confluence; Jenkins; Ansible; Git; Terraform; at least 5 of the following AWS Services: S3, IAM, VPC, NACL, NAT, Security Group, Auto Scaling Group, Subnet Group, Cloud Formation, EC2, Cloud Watch, CLI, Route 53, ELB, ALB, or ACM.
