We are looking for a Software Power Engineer in our Research and Development Department to provide technical expertise across multiple technologies.
Our ideal candidate must have knowledge in advanced applications that are applied to the transmission/distribution networks that involve electrical networks which may include distributed energy resources (DERs) such as wind farms, PV farms, or batteries.
*Duties and Responsibilities*
* Design and develop software applications for components of our electric power management systems
* Analyze, design, and install upgrade of reporting tools for client utilities
* Develop advanced applications for improving performance of electric utilities
* Develop software design documents and user interfaces using C++ and some C code
* Analyze software issues and innovate software solutions
* Prepare functional specifications to develop new programs and interfaces
* Create test cases and test scripts
*Required Experience*:
* Master or Doctorial degree required (preferably in Power Engineering) or equivalent industry knowledge
* Expert skills in design, development and implementation of applications related to the Power Utility Industry
* Knowledge of object-oriented methodologies and relational databases
* Specific knowledge of power applications and power theory
* Knowledgeable of distribution networks and modeling techniques
* Experience with power load flow and similar applications
* Advanced to expert knowledge of C++ and coding skills
