*JOB SUMMARY:* The Payroll Specialist is responsible for assisting with the completion of timecards, new employee paperwork, and any state or local withholding returns or related tax notices regarding those returns.
*Major Duties/Responsibilities:* ·Process and maintain payroll records for multiple branches in various states ·Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely ·Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports ·Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits ·Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance ·Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll ·Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc) ·Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed · Load excel and csv import files for payroll processing · Respond timely to employee questions and maintain central email inbox used for the payroll department ·Complete payroll Checklist on a per payroll basis ·Prepare and document additional payroll inputs in preparation for supervisor review and external and internal audit review ·Other duties as assigned *BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:* * High School Diploma/GED.
* Previous knowledge and experience with processing payroll in Workday * 1-3 years of experience processing multi-state payroll.
* Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
* Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
* Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel (vLookup, pivot table) and Word.
* Strong work ethic and team player.
* High degree of professionalism.
* Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material * Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
* Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
* Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
* Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
* Ability to work independently Working Conditions: * Normal office environment Job Types: Full-time, Temporary Pay: $30.
