Job Function: Responsible for the accounting operations of the Credit Union, to include assisting in the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the Credit Union’s reported results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles, as well as state and federal credit union regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities · Oversees the accounting operations and back-office card processing functions of the credit union, especially its control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
· Train employees; evaluate employee performance; recommend promotions/transfers and salary adjustments.
· Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
· Oversees the issuance of timely, complete and accurate financial statements and reports.
Calculates variances from the budget and report significant issues.
· Manages the accuracy and productivity of the daily activities of accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset records, general accounting, and card processing functions.
· Assists CFO with preparing reporting to regulatory authorities, government agencies and other agencies as needed (NCUA 5300, 990, Report of Officials, and other types).
· Assists in the preparation and the monitoring of the budget and business plan.
· Ensures accounting records and reports are in compliance with GAAP and government regulations.
· Oversees and assists in the preparation of branch profitability measures.
· Coordinates purchases/sales of securities and the related accounting.
· Implementation of Wisdom software and its role in financial statement production, ALM and budgeting.
· Ensures the uploading/delivery of financial information to outside vendors for their report production.
· Assist the CFO with managing internal audit and examination finding tracking log.
· Participation in IRR management and ALCO deliberations.
· Assists the CFO as a staff liaison to ALCO and Supervisory Committee.
· Ensures the credit union complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, including filings with NCUA and GDBF.
· Serves as coordinator for the credit union’s preparation for regulatory examinations and internal/external audits.
Cooperates with and assists external auditors and regulators as appropriate.
· Ensures all necessary payroll and other internal files are accurate and uploaded timely to external parties for processing.
· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with credit union policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, performance management and problem resolution.
· Cooperates with, participate in, and support the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management, safety and soundness and compliance with all regulatory requirements; ensure that the office and all personnel adhere to the same.
· Enthusiastically supports the credit union’s focus on member sales and service and actively seeks out opportunities to promote products and services.
· Ensures all information and transactions, including regarding members, are kept confidential.
· Maintains a professional and courteous attitude with all people, including fellow employees, members, management staff, board members and outside vendors.
· Maintains transparent communication.
Appropriately communicate organization information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, email, and regular interpersonal communication.
· All other duties as assigned.

· Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
